In recent years, Instagram has become one of the social networks that has received great popularity among users of social media compared to other networks such as Facebook and Twitter which are also popular and leading in terms of having many users.

The Instagram popularity is increasing day by day due to the fact that hundreds of celebrities have been joining this network that provides a great opportunity for them to show what they are doing through photos and video and that is why it is not surprising to see many social network users find their way there to become part of what is being shared since it is easy to know what Vanessa Mdee has done today without even watching TV or listening to the radio.

Instagram has not only become a social network for ordinary people to access information but also for bloggers and journalists to collect stories for their blogs and media houses.

Tanzania has many famous people who have come to be a major attraction on social networks especially Instagram such as politicians, musicians, famous sportsmen, actors and comedians, journalist and TV Presenters and whatever written/spoken by these people, it becomes topic for people to discuss and due to the fact that these people have got millions of fans behind them, It makes them rich in terms of followers.

In relation to that, I tried to examine the list of people who have many followers on Instagram and as it would have been expected by everyone, the list has been dominated by musicians. Despite having the top-ten list, but it would have not been fair to list just ten of them while there are other twenty out there with more than one million followers.

So, the list comprise of all the celebrities with more than one million followers which is called INSTAGRAM MILLIONAIRE CLUB explaining the reasons behind accumulation of all those followers.

First of all, Let us start with the Top Ten:

1. DIAMOND PLATINUMZ -3 million followers

In recent years, Diamond has become a favorite musician all over Africa and he has been able to get an international recognition by collecting many awards. Having love affairs with female superstars such as Penny, Wema Sepetu and  Zari, makes his social life interesting not to mention the way music enthusiastic compare him to Ali Kiba.

2. WEMA SEPETU -2.4 million followers

She is an entrepreneur and actress. She has become famous since she won  She has become famous since she won Miss Tanzania beauty pageant in 2006. Since then, she has been in love affairs with different superstars such as Mr Blue, TID, Steven Kanumba, Diamond Platnumz, Idris Sultan and Calisah. All these dramas make her life interesting for people to hear and watch.

3. ZARINAH HASSA -2.3 million followers

She is a Ugandan entrepreneur, running businesses in different parts of Africa. She became popular in Tanzania since she started having love affairs with Diamond Platnumz. Zari is a mother to Diamond’s one and only daughter (Tiffah) and she is currently expecting another Diamond’s child. Being  Diamond’s wife is a reason enough for her to be popular in Tanzania but she is also considered as Wema’s competitor since she became Diamond’s  woman

4. MILLARD AYO -2.3 million followers

He is a Radio presenter at Clouds FM not to mention the fact that he is among of the successive bloggers in Tanzania. He runs a famous Radio Show called “Count Down na Millard Ayo” but also he owns a blog which is a number one information provider in Tanzania. Being the number one online  information provider is what makes him famous not to mention the show that he is running via Clouds FM.

5. JACQUELINE WOLPER -2.2 million followers

She is a popular and favorite Bongo Movie actress. She is recently in love with Harmonize, one of the fast growing musicians under WCB Music Label owned by Diamond Platnumz. You can simply say that, dating Harmonize is what makes people find her interesting nowadays.

6. JOKATE MWEGELO -2.1 million followers

She is a model and a business woman owning a fashion company called Kidoti. She was Miss Tanzania runner up in 2006 behind Wema Sepetu. She once had love affairs with Diamond Platnumz and Ali Kiba respectively and for that, people started to follow her attentively.

7. SHILOLE -2.1 million followers

She is a musician and an entrepreneur. She became popular the moment she started dating a fellow musician Nuhu Mziwanda. These two were interesting to watch since they had too many dramas.
They are no longer together but Shilole has recently attracted many people’s attention.

8. VANESSA MDEE -2 million followers

She is a star musician in Tanzania. She has been nominated in international awards such as MTV Mama for three years consecutively, which makes her one of the outstanding female musicians in Africa. She is currently dating a fellow musician called Jux.

9. SHAMSA FORD -1.8 million followers

She is an actress. She became more popular when she became a star character in a Movie called CHAUSIKU. She was also rumored to be dating some of the superstars such as Diamond Platnumz and Barakah de Prince. She is now married to Chidy Mapenzi who owns a very famous Boutique in town called Chidy mapenzi Classic.

10. LINAH SANGA -1.8 million followers

She is a star female musician in Tanzania. Though she is yet to receive an international recognition, but she has been tremendous all these years. Her life as a star started to attract many people when she started dating a fellow musician called Amini. Linah’s life is full of drama when it comes to love affairs as she has been rumored to be dating a number of rich guys in town.
